Peter Rees steps down as BDTA President
The BDTA would like to extend its thanks to Peter Rees of Dentsply, who has served as President of the BDTA for the past eighteen months. Peter will step down as President from 31 August 2007 following his resignation from Dentsply UK.
During his Presidential term, the number of BDTA members has increased considerably and more companies than ever before are exhibiting at Showcase this year. Peter has worked hard to strengthen the relationship between the BDTA and BDA and the BDTA is delighted that stronger links have been developed between the two associations for the benefit of dentistry.
Tony Reed, Executive Director at the BDTA said, “Regrettably, our rules require that the President must be a representative of a member company so, sadly, Peter’s resignation from Dentsply means that he can no longer be President of the Association. It has been a pleasure to work with Peter over the past year and a half. He has been very supportive of the work of the BDTA and proactive in his approach as President. I would like to thank him for all he has achieved during his Presidency.”
Simon Gambold of Henry Schein is currently Vice President, supported by Edward Attenborough of Attenborough Dental as his Vice President. Simon will take over Presidential duties and leadership of the Association from 1 September 2007.
