ADDE and FIDE are proud to publish the 2011 edition of the Survey on the European Dental Trade Market Trends, covering the period 2006 to 2010.

The report shows the five-year trends that impact our market place. Key metrics include:

  • The population of dentists slightly increased to 263,756 while the number of practising dental technicians went down to 155,994, with hygienists reaching a total of 21,360.
  • The total sales for all countries surveyed increased by only 1.5%.
  • The four largest European markets report the following growth rates for total sales: Germany -2.3%; Italy +4.6%; France +4.3%; and the UK -1.2%
  • The total sales of sundries increased by 2.9%; total sales equipment reduced by 2.6%.

Please note the some of the data provided for the UK market by the BDTA Statistics Committee is based on ‘best guesses’ where no reliable information exists, so please be mindful of this when using the report for planning decisions.
