Showcase 'highly commended' at the TAF Best Practice Awards

The BDTA was shortlisted as one of the finalists in the 2009 Trade Association Forum Best Practice Awards, for the Exhibition of the Year Award category.

The BDTA’s entry for Dental Showcase focused on the substantial increase in visitor numbers, the commercial benefits presented to exhibitors and BDTA members and the new features introduced to Showcase to add value for all involved. The submission was ‘highly commended’ and a particular mention was given to the exceptional visitor numbers at the event in 2008.

Tony Reed, Executive Director, commented, "It was a real honour to receive this commendation and it recognises the huge amount of work the BDTA Council, Committees and Secretariat invest in making the event as successful and innovative as possible for both visitors and exhibitors."

A branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing recently conducted a major market research exercise involving 400 business decision makers which showed that industry awards are a well recognised differentiator particularly in a business-to-business context. 82% of those taking part admitted to being influenced by awards when buying products and services for their business and a further 76% agreed with the statement 'awards are important for generating business or improving the value of a brand'.
